A nervy start from BFC leaving them on the back foot, nonetheless making valiant attempts to play from the back to work the ball up the field for our first attempt by Samuel which went wide of the goal.
The first blood came from a Sagarmartha set play, which was initially defended after a stramash in the box before falling to a green shirt who finished neatly from just outside the box.
The second goal just minutes after again from a corner but this time a free header left the keeper no chance.
BFC seemingly erased the first half from memory with a fast paced and confident start to the second. The control of possession was rewarded with a penalty which Rowan powered, quite literally, through the keeper who despite getting a solid touch, couldn’t keep it out.
With the game level for the next 20 mins, it really felt like the next goal would decide the outcome of the match. And after weathering several long-range efforts, Richie seemed to have a solid performance in goal if it were not for an unfortunate misunderstanding of the pass back rule. What was seemingly a routine, cleanly headed back pass from Rowan to his keeper turned to disaster when the keeper tried to play the ball at feet which was cruelly taken by the striker who showed no mercy punishing BFC for the misunderstanding.
Heads went down after this leading to mistakes in the middle of the park and giving away possession too easily. This led to the strikers in green getting through on goal with simple 1v1s with the keeper which were confidently finished each time.
Finishing on a high however with a wonderful back and forth between John and Shun leaving a very controlled finish from Shun into the top right corner. We consider this to be the best highlight of the match.
