BFC AGM 2025 – Summary Report
The 2025 BFC AGM didn’t exactly unfold in the traditional way — a few beers before futsal, a few more after, and suddenly the documents and spreadsheets didn’t seem quite so important. That said, here’s a quick summary of what should have been covered.
🗣️ Welcome & Shoutouts
- Great to see Muzzy back in Tokyo — his first visit since 2015.
- Always a pleasure to have Mr Sheard in town for the annual pilgrimage.
- Special mention to those who couldn’t be there, especially Richard — a long-time BFC player, captain, and manager. He’s currently recovering in Toranomon Hills Hospital, and sends his best. Slow recovery, he says — just like his tracking back in the day.
AGM Overview
- For those new to the club or AGM format: it’s usually a time to reflect on the season, sort logistics, thank contributors, and look ahead.
- The format was ditched in favour of making the most of Muzzy and Sheard back in town and catching up with everyone, but the important bits of the pre-AGM are noted below.
Finances
- Club finances are in good shape.
- Huge thanks to Andrew for doing a sterling job keeping the books in order throughout the season.
- Huge thanks also to Footnik for their continued support — sponsorship for the upcoming season is in the works and looking positive.
Registration Fees
- The BFC Masters will adopt a model of ¥5,000 annual registration + ¥2,000 per game.
- Worth considering whether this structure also makes sense for the BFC side.
Kit & Gear
- All set for next season — no major kit needs at this time.
Futsal Training
- Really encouraging to see BFC organising training sessions for the first team — great step forward.
- Social futsal also continues to run regularly — again, thanks to Andrew for being on top of it.
Digital & Social
- Will continues to manage the website and Google account — much appreciated.
- Yash and Mika will be taking care of Instagram & Facebook for coming the season.
Leadership Updates
- Big thanks to Tomoki for managing and captaining the side and providing strong structure through the past season.
- The management of BFC now passes to Yash and Mika
- Ryota will acting BFC Captain for the upcoming season
Player Awards
- Players’ Player – BFC: Kentaro
- Players’ Player – Masters: Pete
- Trophies and medals are available — they’re behind the bar at Osaki Footnik.
Season Highlights
- BFC reached the semi-final of the Plate, claiming a TML1 scalp along the way.
- BFC Masters brought home:
- Samurai 7s Plate
- Kanto Masters League title
- Pistol Pete crowned Golden Boot winner
✈️ Tour Recap
- Thailand Tour brought together BFC old boys and new.
- Brian celebrated his 50th in style.
- A memorial for JD was held.
- JD’s brother came out and scored goal of the tournament — it’s up on the website if you haven’t seen it yet.
🏁 Closing
- While the AGM wasn’t held in the traditional sense, the spirit of the club — community, competition, and camaraderie — was alive and well.
- Thanks to everyone for another memorable season, and here’s to making the next one even better.
