Farewell to a BFC legend – Jon Day

The ceremony for Jon will be on Tuesday 12th March at 13:00am GMT (22:00 JST). There will be a live webcast link made available nearer the time.

The Club has reserved the Osaki Footnik for that evening from 21:30 and all are welcome to attend.

A brief note to let you know the incredibly sad news that Jon Day passed away the morning of Wednesday 21st February.   While perhaps not a surprise given the battle he had fought, it is still pretty grim to have to share it with you.

His brother Rob called earlier to pass on the news and thank everyone for their love and support to Jon over the years and during his illness. Jon was at home in the UK for some time now and as Rob put it, he was at the end ‘surrounded by family and lots of love’. There is some comfort to take from that.

Details of his funeral will follow when available, and Rob said there will be a link for those wishing to view or attend online. We will also give some thought to what we can do to celebrate the life of a fine gent and a great friend who will be very sorely missed.
