Atsuyuki Tanaka brings a wealth of experience to BFC Tokyo, having played at Kanoya University, one of the most prestigious football universities in Kyushu, Japan. A composed and intelligent central midfielder, he is a key figure in the team’s build-up play, dictating the tempo and controlling possession with ease.

Tanaka is extremely comfortable on the ball, displaying a neat and tidy playing style while also possessing the ability to dribble out of pressure when needed. His passing range is exceptional, making him an effective playmaker capable of unlocking defenses with both short and long passes.

Since making his debut in the 2023/2024 season, Tanaka has been an essential part of BFC Tokyo’s midfield. His performances often set the tone for the team—when Atsu plays well, BFC create chances and dominate possession.
