Occupation: Engineer in Philips Semiconductors
Entry to Japan: 27th April 1975
Footballing hero: Neil Armstrong
How became BFC member: I think it was in 1997 Koichi (ex-member) asked me to come to play with the team as you were short at that time. it was a friendly match in Yokota.
Most memorable BFC/Vags moments: The best match. A friendly against the staff team of Shimizu S-pulse with Steve Perryman the manager. Others. Shanghai tour in summer 2001 (not the footy!!!)
Roadrunner on acid down the right or left flank and the best crosser this side of Spice Boy Beckham. From a striker’s point of view, it’s great to play alongside Keisuke — if you can keep up with him. From a defender’s point of view, he’s a nightmare when it comes to running back to help out, but it’s great to have a player who you know will get on the end of a long up-field punt. In front of goal he has a bad habit of putting many shots into orbit but does find the net from time to time
His Sharp style and good looks have had him dubbed ‘Japan’s answer to James Bond’. Has been caught offside with other players’ birds and has upset many a slumber party with his impressions of a chainsaw! His word to his teammates; quote, Thanks everybody who asked me to stay at their place when I missed the last train, unquote.
