Player Profile

British Football Club

Neil Collins

Occupation: Kiddies teacher
Entry to Japan: May 2000
Footballing heroes: Keegan, Rush, Barnes, (Shankly)
Supports: Grimsby? nah.. Liverpool
How became BFC member: Was recruited in late 2000 by Sid in ‘What the dickens’ but it took a few months Negotiations to get him to cut a hangover short to make it to a match!
Most memorable BFC/Vags moments: Managed to miss an afternoon game (3pm kick off) by not waking up in time – this the member of BFC living closest to the OiFuto ground!!! Scoring a double hat-trick against PWCFC in the World Motors Cup. Playing on grass in Japan at YCAC!

Apparently had 6 months of trials on the youth team at Stockport county but left when they tried cutting him back to a packet of fags a day. Also tried out for Bolton  Wanderers and Wigan Athletic but same problem – no half time fag breaks! Came to Japan on advice of his Sister, but now seems to be spending more time listening to the sisters in Roppongi! Has been an inspiration to the forwards with his fast runs and good passing. Scores some excellent goals!
