This match report is being written a loooong time after the final whistle blew against Fussa FC (about 10 days after). There are a few reasons but most positively we can say that the days where a win was a surprise that should be relished, savoured and picked over are long-gone.
BFC have now won four games on the bounce and we have reached the point where we score 7 more goals than the opposition and it kinda felt expected.

There’s been a bit of a pattern to the proceedings over the past few games. It’s not ideal but we do seem to start slowly. It takes 10 minutes or so for us to find our feet and it’s not always pretty. The Fussa guys on the other-hand were big, heavily built characters with support on the sidelines. Sitting bottom-of-the-league they seemed to start the game with a point to prove.
Fussa’s effort could not be questioned however, it soon became clear that their organisation and strategy weren’t up to the same level. They were charging at the defence as individuals lacking the right final pass and on the odd occasion they did weave through they also lacked any sharpness with their shots.
By charging at us without any real organisation or strategy that also left them very easy to expose on the counter-attack. Both BFC’s first and last goals started from short passes around our own penalty area followed by long balls upfront where we felt we could choose the scorer for ourselves.
And we chose 4 separate scorers, the most memorable of which was a long-range dink over the keeper from Marco standing just outside the penalty area. It just needed a Cantona style strut to complement the quality.
BFC have found their groove but it’s one that’s unfortunately not matched by the fixture list; this being the last game of the year with nothing scheduled until the New Year.
We’ll come back in January and look to continue the march toward the top of the table. Promotion is in our sights. 2023 is our year.
