An overnight and morning downpour put the newly laid Hachioji pitch to the test this week however, the pitch held up under difficult conditions proving itself out as one of the best pitches the league has to offer.
Likewise, the BFC defence took a battering this week but held out for a 0-0 grind that showed a steely character that could be significant in the campaign ahead.
BFC arguably opened as the brighter of the two teams. New addition Atsu helped to control the centre of the park with solid possesion and distribution.
Slowly though a touch of unconfidence seeped in to the passing game of the defence and Jetro were looking to capitalise. The half ended with an onslaught of around 10 corners that BFC struggled to clear. Short, long edge of the box, into the keeper, Jetro tried it all and despite not getting the ball away BFC still prevented Jetro from registering anything on the scoresheet.
Following the relief of half-time, BFC were able to find a bit more success with longer balls that put the fairly weak Jetro defence under pressure. The crossbar and the post were struck in amongst some key chances from Daigo, Alex and a cheeky long effort from Atsu.
There were chances to steal the game and Jetro would likely have felt hard done by to come away with nothing at that stage but it shows the connections BFC are building and the potential danger we could have if we could just break the deadlock.

4 points on the board after 3 games is not a terrible start. It’s better than this stage last year by 2 points but we want goals and a win against Shane FC next week to start cementing the potential.
